Fishing has been good so far this season. Each tide has brought to the river plenty of bright fish, some carrying sea lice. As of now, most of the steelhead we are seeing are big bucks and will be taking their place in the pools. Hens usually follow later in the season and provide some of the most electric activity. The rivers are beginning to get low and we are praying for some more rain to bring the levels back up. A good rain has been known to pull more fish into the rivers and to make many spots more “swingable”.
