September is a great time to fish around Oregon. We have been out enjoying the cooler temperatures and the fresh steelhead pulling into the Deschutes. Floating line action has been fantastic in the morning and evenings, with light tips producing well throughout the sunny hours. While counts on the Columbia river have been below the average, many of the fish we have been finding are wild. These wild steelhead will give you a memorable encounter. On the North Umpqua, the leaves will soon be turning and the shade sessions will get longer. Skaters will continue to fish well for at least another month. Not too early to start getting excited for early winter chrome.
We still have a few dates available in September. Call soon if you want to experience our favorite time of the year for summer-run steelhead.
