Alaska Update

The last two weeks had some incredible extremes. The rivers on the island were as low as I have ever seen them and, with considerable amounts of rain, quickly flooded and remained high for an extended period of time.We went from fishing floating and intermediate tips to dredging runs with heavy tips and big flies. Spring steelhead fishing demands versatility and adaptability. We found nice fish in the low and the high waters and had a great time with our fisherman. Sticking to the swing has been rewarding and the quality of fish this year has been spectacular. This far into the season, we are expecting some pods of bright hens to be moving through.
