We return home to Central Oregon in mid May to fish for Deschutes River native rainbow trout, also known as “redsides”. Redsides are some of the hardest fighting trout in North America. Deschutes River Fly Fishing — Summer/Fall Steelhead

Steelhead begin to migrate up the Deschutes River in July. By September, Deschutes River summer steelhead can be found throughout the length of this 100-mile-long fishery. The Deschutes River continues with good steelhead fishing well into November, giving anglers plenty of opportunity to chase magnificent steelhead. This is the perfect venue for using a spey rod.
